🎬 CapCut for PC & Mac: The Complete Video Editing Tutorial

Effects (VHS, Glitch, Bloom)

Step 2: The Interface Walkthrough (Crucial for Speed)

When you open CapCut Desktop, you will see a layout very similar to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Let’s label the four zones:

  1. The Media Panel (Top Left): This is your library. You import video, audio, and images here.
  2. The Preview Window (Top Right): This is your "TV screen." You watch your edits here in real-time.
  3. The Timeline (Bottom Center): The heart of editing. This is where you stack video clips, audio tracks, and text.
  4. The Property Panel (Top Right, changes context): When you click a clip, text, or effect, this panel gives you the controls to adjust it (size, color, volume).

Pro Tip: If you are coming from mobile, stop tapping the screen. Use the keyboard shortcuts: Spacebar to play/pause, I to set an "In" point, O to set an "Out" point. capcut for pc & mac complete capcut video editing tutorial

Creating a "Push In" Effect (Parallax)

  1. Select your clip. Click the Diamond icon (+) on the clip in the timeline (the keyframe button).
  2. Move the playhead to the end of the clip.
  3. In the Preview Window, drag a corner of the video to zoom in slightly.
  4. Watch: CapCut automatically added the second keyframe. The video will now slowly zoom in.
