Console Commands Subsistence Feature

Important Note on Limitations

It is vital to understand that Subsistence is an Early Access game that receives frequent updates. Unlike games like Skyrim or Minecraft, Subsistence does not have a comprehensive list of text-based "item codes."

Most of the "commands" function as toggles or sliders within the Cheat Menu UI rather than typed strings. You will rarely need to type complex syntax. Instead, you will use the menu to: Console Commands Subsistence

• Toggle God Mode (Invincibility).
• Set the time of day.
• Spawn items directly into your inventory (via a creative-style menu).

Part 1: How to Activate the Console

Before you can type a single command, you need to know how to open the console.

Step-by-step:

1. Launch Subsistence (Single Player or Multiplayer Host).
2. Press the Tab key on your keyboard. Note: In some keyboard layouts, this might be the ` key (grave/tilde), but Tab is the default for Subsistence.
3. A grey/black text box will appear at the top of your screen.
4. Type your commands exactly as written below.
5. Press Enter to execute.

Important Note for Multiplayer: In standard multiplayer (non-dedicated), you must be the host of the server to use console commands. If you are a client connecting to a dedicated server, these commands will not work unless you are an admin (see Part 7).

DestroyNPCs

• Effect: Removes all NPCs, including neutral deer and rabbits. They will respawn over time.

Category B: Game World Manipulation (Admin Tools)

These commands change the environment, weather, and time. Toggle God Mode (Invincibility)

• Set Time of Day: set timeofday [0-24]
  • Example: set timeofday 12 (Midday). set timeofday 0 (Midnight).
• Change Weather: set weather [type]
  • Types: sunny, cloudy, rainy, snow, storm
  • Note: Weather affects temperature. Don't set "snow" without warm clothes.
• Teleport: teleport [PlayerName] [X] [Y] [Z] (Advanced, requires coordinates).
  • Easier method: teleport to [PlayerName] (Teleports you to another player).
  • teleport home (Teleports you to your base bed).
• Kill All Wildlife: killall npcs
  • Use Case: If your base is overrun by wolves or bears, this command instantly removes all aggressive animals from the world.

Category C: Difficulty & Hunter Behavior

Subsistence is defined by the Hunter AI. These commands let you control the heat.

• Hunter Base Control: remove hunterbases (Deletes all current hunter camps on the map).
  • Use Case: When hunters build too close to your base.
• Disable / Enable Raids: cfg raid [true/false]
  • cfg raid false (Hunters will still patrol but won't actively raid your base). This is a sanity-saver for builders.
• Hunter Aggression Level: (Hidden command, requires editing Game.ini on servers):
  • HunterAggressionModifier=0.0 (Passive) to 2.0 (Insane).
• Despawn All Hunters: destroy npcs [type]
  • destroy npcs hunters (Instantly removes all hunter NPCs from the map).
