What is DIALux evo 9? A Brief Refresher

Before dissecting the new features, it is crucial to understand what DIALux evo actually is. Unlike its predecessor (DIALux 4), which was based on a pure CAD (Computer-Aided Design) logic, DIALux evo introduced a "room-based" and "building-based" modeling paradigm. DIALux evo 9 continues this philosophy, but with a critical shift: it is faster, smarter, and more intuitive.

DIALux evo 9 is a complete, free-of-charge software solution for professional lighting calculation. It supports all major light planning standards, including EN 12464, DIN 5035, and LEED requirements. 1. Electrical Engineers

3) Create building geometry

1. Use the Floor Plan toolbar to draw rooms/walls: draw wall, rectangle, polyline tools.
2. Set wall heights and thickness in the right properties pane.
3. Add floors: Project Navigator → Building → Add Storey.
4. Edit doors/windows: Insert → Door/Window, place and set sizes in properties.
