The Ugly: Known Issues & Complaints
User reviews and tech forum discussions reveal several recurring complaints: Step 2: Boot the Storage Processor (SP)
- Difficulty uninstalling – Some users report that after paying for the Pro version, the software leaves behind registry keys and background services that survive normal uninstallation.
- False positives – The scanner has been known to flag essential Windows system files as "junk," leading to system instability if a user blindly clicks "Fix All."
- Aggressive bundling – EMC Utility Pro is sometimes bundled with other adware or browser hijackers. If you download it from a third-party mirror (rather than the official site), you may end up with unwanted toolbars or search redirects.
- Customer support – Paid users frequently complain of slow or non-existent support when the software causes boot loops or broken shortcuts.
