If you possess a legitimate, unused product key from an old purchase (e.g., a CD case or digital receipt), here is how to proceed safely. Note: Microsoft discontinued activation servers for Office 2010 via telephone in 2023, but internet activation often still works if the key hasn't been blocked.
Step 1: Find a Clean ISO Since Microsoft removed the official links, you need a verified, untouched ISO. The only semi-safe repository is the Internet Archive (archive.org) . Search for "Office 2010 SP2 64-bit ISO." Check the SHA-1 hash against known Microsoft values if possible.
Step 2: Disable Antivirus (Temporarily) Warning: Modern Windows Defender will flag the setup.exe of Office 2010 as "Potentially Unwanted Software" because it is old. You must disable real-time protection during installation, then re-enable it.
