Monster Hunter Stories Jp English Patch Android
Bringing the Original to Life: The English Patch for Monster Hunter Stories (JP) on Android
For years, Western fans of Monster Hunter Stories had a frustrating choice: play the original, Japanese-only release on Android with a language barrier, or experience the official English version through the less-optimized 3DS or the delisted iOS port. Thanks to dedicated fan efforts, that choice has changed.
A community-developed English translation patch now allows you to play the Japanese Android version of Monster Hunter Stories fully in English.
Step 2: Install the Japanese APK
Enable “Install from Unknown Sources” in your Android settings. Then: monster hunter stories jp english patch android

- Fix: You pasted the patch into the wrong folder. The patch needs to sit inside the
filesdirectory, not alongside it. The path should look like:Android/data/jp.co.capcom.mhssp/files/English_Patch_Data.
Issue: "App not installed" error during APK install.
- Fix: You have a conflicting signature. Uninstall any previous version (or a different Monster Hunter Stories mod) completely, then reboot and install.
Step 4: Apply the English Patch
This is the crucial step. The patch typically replaces the game’s core logic file:
- Download the English Patch ZIP.
- Extract it. Inside, you should find a file named
Assembly-CSharp.dll. - Using your file manager, navigate to:
Android > data > com.capcom.mhsspj > files > il2cpp data > Metadata - Overwrite the existing
Assembly-CSharp.dllwith the patched version. - If the patch includes additional asset files (e.g.,
sharedassets0.assets), replace those in the same directory.
Step 2: Install the Base Game
- Navigate to your Downloads folder.
- Tap the
jp.co.capcom.mhssp.apkfile. - Allow "Install from unknown sources" if prompted.
- Do not open the game yet. Opening it before patching will create unencrypted cache files that sometimes interfere with the patch.
