Propresenter Setup
Here’s a professional, balanced review for ProPresenter setup, suitable for a church tech, event producer, or AVL manager:
2. The Audience (Projector/IMAG)
This is the output everyone in the room sees. ProPresenter treats this as a separate canvas. propresenter setup
- Setup: Go to
Screen Configuration. Set your main projector as "Audience Display." Uncheck "Mirror." You want extended desktop.
The Non-Negotiable Minimum Specs
- RAM: 16GB (32GB recommended if you use lots of 4K video loops).
- Storage: 512GB SSD (NVMe). ProPresenter libraries grow fast. Never run a show from an external spinning hard drive.
- Ports: Ensure you have dedicated HDMI/DisplayPort outputs for every screen. Do not rely on USB-to-HDMI adapters for primary outputs; they fail under load.
3. Display, screens & stage display
- Connect projector/LED/wall and any stage monitor.
- In ProPresenter: Preferences → Displays.
- Assign Display 1 = Main output (projector/house).
- Assign Display 2 = Stage Display (confidence).
- Enable or disable “Blank Output” for unused screens.
- Configure resolution and pixel mapping to match your hardware.
1. The Control Screen (Your Laptop Display)
This is your cockpit. Here you see the playlist, the library, thumbnails, and the cue column. The audience never sees this. Setup: Go to Screen Configuration
- Pro Tip: Increase the text size in
Preferences > Appearance. You will be glancing at this under stage lights.
