Option B: The Patreon Method (Most Common)

SimHub originated as a Patreon project. Many users subscribe to the "SimHub Project" Patreon tier.

  1. Subscribe on Patreon (minimum tier usually around $3-5 USD to unlock the license).
  2. Once subscribed, connect your Discord account (often required).
  3. SimHub runs a bot called "SimHub License Bot" .
  4. You must send a private message (DM) to this bot with a specific command, often !license or !getlicense.
  5. The bot will reply with the .license file attached.

Pro Tip: If you used Patreon, check your Discord "Direct Messages" for "SimHub License Bot." Also, check your Patreon "My Memberships" > "SimHub" > "Overview" tab; sometimes the license file is linked there as a downloadable attachment.

2. Where is the License Information Stored?

What you will see inside: If you open this file in Notepad, you will find a section like this:

  • Do not share this file. Sharing it will not work on another PC because the HardwareID will not match.
  • Do not delete this file. Deleting it will force you to re-activate (which counts as an activation slot).

  • Do not rename the file.
  • Do not change the file extension.
