  3. SLIC table injection – At boot time, the loader inserts a fake SLIC 2.1 table (for Windows 7) into memory, along with a matching OEM certificate and product key.
  4. Activation spoof – Windows reads the injected table and “sees” a valid OEM license, therefore activating itself.

The “2.4.9 22” version was popular because it supported multiple OEM brands and claimed to survive Windows Updates, including the infamous KB971033 (the Windows Activation Technologies update that detected many earlier loaders).
